Perhaps one of the most important traditions to a happy Halloween is finding the right pumpkin to carve into a jack-o-lantern carving. Pumpkin patchese play a huge role in finding that perfect pumpkin while enjoying some family fun. Here are some great pumpkin patches to dive into in the San Antonio area.
Open 7 days a week in October, visit the Fiesta Farm and find that perfect pumpkin for your family. Admission is $7 for everyone ages 2 and up. Included in admission are a Hay Jump, Haunted House, free pony ride, and a hay ride. Monday – Friday from 9am – 12pm, Saturdays from 9 am – 8pm, and Sunday from 11am- 7pm, your pumpkin adventure awaits you at 8497 FM 1560N in San Antonio.
Immerse yourself in pumpkins at the Gruene Pumpkin Patch. With over 10,000 pumpkins to choose from, the hard part will be picking just one. Open 7 days a week, on Saturdays your family can enjoy food, games, and bounce houses among the plethora of festive orange gourds. Head to New Braunfels and exit FM 306. Open Monday – Saturday from 10 am – 8pm and Sunday from 12pm – 5pm.
Pipe Creek is mostly known for their Christmas tree farm but they also have a fine selection of pumpkins to pick from. Open the last three weekends in October, the 13, 14, 20, 21, 27, and 28, from 11 am -5 pm. Admission is just $4, free for children 3 and under, and includes a hay ride, hay jump, scarecrow dressing, farm animals, and pumpkin painting with purchase of a pumpkin. If you’re up for a bit of a drive, head out to Medina, TX for a pumpkin patch experience of a lifetime. With hay rides, hay mazes, pumpkin painting, a petting zoo, and pony rides, you’ll get more than just a pumpkin here. Open every Saturday, Sunday, and Monday in October from 10 am – 3 pm, admission is $6 and free for kids 2 and under. Pack a picnic and spend a day out on the farm at Love Creek Orchards, 13558 State Hwy16 North.
Head to Hondo, TX for some farm-tastic fun this October and pick out a pumpkin at this family-fun farm. They’ve got corn cannons, campfires for marshmallow roasting, hay rides, goat walks, cow trains, and a bounce house bigger than a house. Plus, a Lil’ Poppers play pen for the little ones to explore. Open Friday from 5 – 9pm, Saturday 10 am – 9pm, and Sunday 12pm – 5pm, admission is $10 and free for kids 2 and under.
